CUSTOMER PROPRIETARY NETWORK INFORMATION (CPNI) AND HOW WE USE IT

Background on CPNI
In the normal course of providing telephone service, we collect and maintain certain information about customer accounts. This information, when matched to a customer’s name, address and calling or originating billing telephone number is known as “Customer Proprietary Network Information” or CPNI for short.

Examples of CPNI include information typically available from details on a customer’s monthly telephone bill — the type of line, technical characteristics, class of service, current telephone charges, long distance and local service billing records, directory assistance charges, usage data and calling patterns.

Data must combine personally identifiable information with proprietary network information before it can be considered CPNI.
Subscriber list information, such as a customer’s name, service address and telephone numbers, by itself, is not CPNI.

How we use your CPNI
We do not sell CPNI to unaffiliated third parties and we abide by the federal and/or state CPNI rules that apply to all telecommunications carriers.

Ordinarily, we may use your CPNI for marking our products and services, or the products and services of our third-party partners, as outlined elsewhere in this policy. Such marketing is limited to marketing products directly to you, and not to any other person or business found within your CPNI (such as a telephone number in your call-details)

If you would like to restrict the use of your CPNI for the marketing of products and services, please contact customer service. Restricting use will not eliminate all ZipZap marketing.

We will never use your call-details to market any products to telephone numbers which you receive calls from, or place calls to.
Nothing in this policy shall be construed to prevent us from releasing generalized network statistics, such as our overall network usage and a generalized view of our customers calling patterns, as long as such information is not personally identifiable (i.e. doesnÕ contain any names, addresses, specific telephone numbers, or other personality identifiable information).

USER PERSONAL INFORMATION (UPI) AND HOW WE USE IT
Our service allows users to place certain personal information on our servers. An example of such information is a userÕ address book and the telephone numbers that a userÕ calls are forwarded to. This type of information is referred to as User Personal Information or UPI for short.

Account and billing related information, including call-details, is not considered UPI.

If information can be considered both CPNI and UPI, it will be treated as CPNI.

We will never, under any circumstances, use UPI for any purpose whatsoever, other than to provide you with the service for which you provided us the UPI.

We may, however, view such information with your permission, in order to assist you with a problem.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA
We maintain and protect the security of our servers and your personal information.

To secure the information collected online, prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure only appropriate use of information, we have established appropriate physical, electronic and management safeguards.

We require user names and passwords to access sensitive data.
Unless you authorize unencrypted transmission, we will use industry standard encryption methods to protect your data transmission.
